Adelaide-Specific Considerations
Heat absorption: Dark concrete colours in full Adelaide sun can reach 65–75°C surface temperature — painful and potentially dangerous for bare feet. We recommend:

Chemical resistance: Pool water is typically pH 7.2–7.8 with chlorine levels of 1–3 ppm. Over years, this causes:

- Colour fading on unsealed coloured concrete
The solution is a penetrating anti-slip sealer (silane/siloxane impregnator) applied after 28-day cure. Unlike film sealers, penetrating sealers do not create a slippery surface and do not peel or delaminate in pool environments.
Drainage fall: Australian Standards require a minimum 1:50 fall (20 mm per metre) away from the pool to prevent water pooling. We laser-level all pool surround formwork to achieve correct drainage before concrete placement.
